Denis Lim
Research, Justice & Equity
Since 2014 Denis has been working in various frontline roles with different social service providers in Toronto. He says he has had the privilege of working with youth and adult populations suffering from shockingly difficult circumstances of marginalization in society. As such, he has seen the realities of what homelessness looks like, and embedded in that, mental health issues, drug addiction and poverty. He is very familiar with how these issues can cause so much destruction on the mind, body and soul at such a young age and carry forward into adulthood. Although it is devastating to witness so closely, Denis remains committed in my journey to continue promoting the principles of justice, equality and human rights for all people.
Denis has a Masters' Degree in Child and Youth Care from Ryerson University and fundamentally believes that to make waves and change the system for the better, how young people are treated must be critically reexamined. Denis' work with BCAN is grounded in the principles of justice, equality, and human rights.
